To be honest, during a period in my life when I was hurting, I wanted nothing to do with church.  I believed in God but the last thing I wanted was to be judged and beat over the head with the Bible.  Fortunately, I was blessed to have a Christian friend who poured out the love, not the judgment, of Christ.
