Our outreach ministries are designed to meet specific needs of the community that are outside the scope of our programs. The objective of all of our outreaches is to share the heart of Christ and promote unity within the body of Christ and our communities.
Christian Counseling
Arms Wide Open Ministries provides Christian Counseling by professional Christian Counselors.
Matthew 25:35 Outreach
In partnership with Appalachian Harvest House and the World Vision Storehouse of Appalachia, Arms Wide Open Ministries, Inc has participated in several outreaches in Greenbrier County. Appalachian Harvest House provides food while Arms Wide Open distributes personal care items (deodorant, shampoo, makeup etc), basic household items (trash bags, toilet paper, paper towels etc.), new clothing and toys (at Christmas) received through the World Vision’s gift in kind distributions. In 2009, Arms Wide Open distributed over $10,000 worth of new clothing from Dress Barn to women in need. As the ministry grows, we plan to increase the frequency of distributions.
Setting up for the outreach at the Perrine Apartments in Lewisburg. Visiting missionaries to Mexico provided translation as Appalachian Harvest provided food and water and Arms Wide Open Ministries distributed personal and household goods. Seven gave their lives to Christ during this outreach.
Christian Single Mothers United
The mission of Christian Single Mothers United is to unite and empower Christian single mothers by providing support, resources, and a place to network with each other. It is hope that through this network, mothers will be able to support each other with their talents and resources.
One Body – Southeast West Virginia Outreach Ministries Association
To be able to provide better services to the community we serve, Arms Wide Open desires to unite the outreach ministries serving southeastern West Virginia counties. By bringing awareness of programs available, we can assist each other in strengthening our programs and provide better continuity in assisting those that are in need. Arms Wide Open will also facilitate training opportunities on topics such as grant writing and ministry resources.
Youth & Adult Learning Center
To encourage youth and adults in our empowerment programs, we will provide computer access, computer training, tutoring and assistance with applying for and enrolling in college courses.
